UQ in Indonesia and Vietnam
UQ has an office in Indonesia and a representative on the ground in Vietnam to foster engagement with universities, government agencies, corporate networks, and non-governmental organisations, and to support alumni and student recruitment in the region.

- Dr Jaime Manalo IV, a University of Queensland (UQ) alum and recipient of the prestigious Australia Awards Philippines Alumnus of the Year, is transforming the future of rice farming in the Philippines through a groundbreaking youth-led initiative that bridges the digital divide in rural communities.
- After a competitive selection process, 10 initiatives have been awarded funding totalling $106,452 for Round One of the University of Queensland (UQ) Global Partnerships Funding Scheme in 2025.
- 2 UQ students earn prestigious Westpac Asian Exchange Scholarships to study in Singapore, furthering Australia-Asia ties.
- UQ’s International Development unit (UQID) has delivered 6 Masterclasses, 2 Regional Dialogues, and one Government-to-Government Engagement training and capacity building programs to enhance the resilience and prosperity of the Mekong subregion (this includes Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam) through the Australian Government’s Mekong-Australia Partnership (MAP).
- UQ’s most successful and largest NCP Scholar cohort to date was announced by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) today. All 11 shortlisted UQ students were awarded NCP Scholarships.
